Quite a month coming up.
Msgr Voy at St Teresa.  One Sunday, expectant mother care and other organizations battling for babies.
Hope to raise few thousand dollars in support. Continue to need our prayers.

Special event in 2 weeks; honor Cardinal Egan, and Al Otero and his wife.  Sat night.  Asking that we as council sponsor a table.

Pro Life: not too early march for life in DC.  pro life speaker of the house. 60% increase in pro life women in House of Rep.  Jan 24th 2011.  K of C initiative for ultra sound machines, 60 nationwide. over 1million dollars raised for them, of which we contributed.  many materials from KC. high traffic churches, there is a billboard we can get 10ft x 20ft billboard. Art Sullivan will talk to St Theresa, John Mark will talk to St. Augustines about permission to post. Hardy Kleunder asked about permits, volunteers will check.  Sat Nov 27th, Pope Benedict will celebrate mass for all nascent, whole of Advent will dedicate to Pro Life.  That night a vigil which we are requested to attend in each church.  Evening prayer, rosary and benediction.  Spring, each week a development report for 40 weeks up to Christmas, bulletin notice about development of baby.

Round table meeting to cover money being spent and events.

Br. John Sarcone. Church, three meetings ago proposed our council donate a plaque for Archbiship Timothy M Dolan.  MEt with Dave Mernada from Crown Trophy, prepared outline of wording approved by Msgr.  Price was 650.  We had approved 250.  Msgr did not want cheap materials in vestibule.  Dave agreed to donate 250 of that cost.  Vote to ammend additional 150 under new business.

Noted also stickers - not all are present.

Br. Al Otero. Midnight run on November 26, Thanksgiving dinner to homeless in city.  Decided surplus to Jan Peep, homeless womens shelter in Peeksgill.  This past Saturday; loaves and fishes program brings food to people of Ossining, as well as food that they can take home. Midnight run people put out clothes as well this week including coats and winter clothes.  2 tables full donated.  Deacon Steve also involved with fishes and loaves program.  Friday after Thanksgiving people are needed to participate.

Br. Walter Jarvis - veterans escort to mass. Two weeks in a row, lot of people turned out.  Touching, meaningful and fulfilling.  Mass is well done by preist. 

Br. Peter Marengo Youth, chairman to lead free throw contest.  Buy 12 basketballs; 12 winners in each of the brackets.

Br. PGK St Theresas has a womens night out coming up, and could use assistance.  This weekend.  Will email

KCIC; 4ft by 8ft sign in maintenance to be used. (in 2 pieces)  Agenda next week for committee meeting.

Br. John Sarcone, motion to amend prior resolution 400 on plaque that will be in vestibule.  Motion for approval up to $400 (amend 250 to 400) to pay for the plaque and accompany with coffee for fund raising.  Seconded Hardy Kleunder, 2 opposed.  12 in favor.  Motion passes.  Br. . Donate $50 toward the plaque.

Late Cardinal OConnor smeared in NY Times. despicable.   article, gay rights bashing Catholic church. Archbishop Dolan condemned. as did Cardinal Egan. Call for message, and action in opposition to this disrespect of the Catholic church.  Request that this council send a letter to the State Deputy, requesting he and committee send a message to all councils *take action*.  Motion that we as a council respond.  Seconded by Br. Mike Deem.  Br. Hardy Kleunder suggested advertising list be included.  Motion passed unanimously; GK will respond on behalf of Council.

Motion on behalf of council that we put a 1/4 page ad in for Br Al Otero congratulating him. $175 1/4 half page $300.  Seconded John Sullivan.  Br. Tony Gendron suggested review how matters discussed.  Discussion come around to finance committee meeting to guide GK and books accountable.  Discussion about finances.  Motion amended to approve up to $175 for use in cost of 1/4 page ad.  GK point of information about FC meeting, prudent action in spending.  Passed unanimously.

GK notes we have request for a table, $1500.  GK suggest perhaps 50%.  No motion on floor.  Br asks what action is requested.  Event 20th.  Br. Art suggests phone call committee.  Nothing resolved.

Br. Xavier Flores St Augustine Christmas fair; good idea fundraising.  Dec 4th.
St Theresas has one as well.  Br. Mike Deem will check into dates/cost for that event.  Might be same day.
St. Anns is Nov 28th.

Br. Peter Marengo began with a thank you to Fr. Stephen Mosha. All present stood and applauded. 
Recognized Fr Stephen Mosha for Chaplains Report,
(return to Br. Peter Marengo, GK Report) .. goal, focus is on health of council and would like to do only one year. Next year looks forward to someone else leading council. Happy to be back as GK and lead council back to glory. [speech notes delivered]

Chaplains Report: 

Fr. Stephen Mosha led everyone in prayer, and then says a few words; noted this is his last meeting, Thanks for all done for me and the good work we've done together. Going back to Africa with positive impression the Knights of Columbus a group he didn't know about before he came here. Who knows might be Knights there, and if not, then one things sure, love kindness and service will go with him. Fr. Stephen Mosha reflected on the gospel of Sunday. As he goes to take care of his father, he will surely take care of others. "Go and do the same" as the lesson from the gospel. Fr. Stephen Mosha asks only for our prayers as we continue to do Gods work. He notes that during one mass this week will he will ask for prayer for the Knights of Columbus and this group in particular. God bless families and the work we[Knights] do.. Welcome back

GK read letter from supreme re official designation of Br. Michael Deem as new Financial Secretary for 3 year term.
 
Conference Chairman Gary Leonardo writes Sun Aug 15, training for all officers of council. In particular for GK, DGK and Chancellor. To be held at Dunphy Council in White Plains. Breakfast and Lunch served. 0930 breakfast, meeting at 1000.

Stated will attend upcoming officers training

Preparing for semi-annual audit.

GK requested report on dues and suspensions; noted inclusion of $2.00 annual (culture of life) assessment from Supreme; GK displayed a copy of Council by-laws which are now on file at Supreme website.  GK will work with Advocate to update by-laws.  Reported Supreme allows disabled members to have dues waived upon request.  Reminded coucil annual dues are $30 with $15 initiation fee which was waived for members who took degree prior to this meeting.

Auditor and Trustee Report: 
Br. John Mark said trustees to meet&nbsp; July 19 in time for next audit due Aug 1.

Pro-Life - Br. John Mark reports: more attacks on pro life front. Lawsuit by Rep Maloney and Senator Menendez, to restrict speech or pro life centers by censure of advertising. Being proposed at this point but backed by many parties.  Repors that we raised $550.00 to go to expectant mother care.  Money was raised from the bus ride for Br. Cliffs ordination. GK noted pro life mass at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton celebrated by Pastor Keane.

FS M. Deem asked Br. John Mark what Knights might be doing in relation to the YMCA // "The Y" effectively eliminating "Christian" from the name.  Br. Michael Deem proposed we write a letter to Supreme and suggest withold any funding to the "Y". Motion seconded and passed. Br. Michael Deem will pursue further.

Br. John Mark reported on behalf of chairman T. Johnson - several came to escort veterans to mass on 7/4 at VA hostpital and noted how much they appreciated it. Mental and physical handicapped were escorted.  GK noted council to escort vets the first Sunday of every month -  next one is Aug. 1.

GK reported council hosted wonderful dinner 6/28 for Br. Cliff Calanni at Goldfish, 23 attended.

C&B - Br. Xavier Flores, chairman, noted books are on way.  2 books will be sent to each member at home. Competition - whomever sells most there will be a prize. GK noted council netted $1750, 3 years ago - would like us to shoot for $1500 this year. Thats 3 books each minimum. Early bird and quick start chances for sellers to win money. Quick start is July 25. Early bird Sept 26.

GK repoted that the Council will host a farewell dinner for Fr. Stephen Mosha on 7/21.  GK has flyers circulating at church - public event. Proceeds going to Fr. Stephen Mosha.

Report of the Fourth Degree: 

DD Sir Knight Anthony Mazzuca reported assembly 718 this past sat had funeral mass for Br. Owen Carragher with color guard at MAss.  8/3 bbq for veterans at Montrose VA. 1730 assist setup serve at 6,  Reminded council that the 4th Degree escorts vets the 5th sunday of each month and that the assembly helps at mass - 4th Deg Exemplification is April 9, 2011 in fishkill. registration 1130. includes cocktails and dinner. hospitality through day.

Forms - Service Personnel due july 31; semi annual report due 15th aug.; another youth event if wish to host is soccer challenge, aug 15 to request a kit if interested. Training Aug 15 for officers and July 31 for fin sec training,&nbsp; Suggested best times to push C&amp;B books is during festival events. Summer is here, things slack. now is time to drive members. last year west putnam was #1 for membership recruitment. lets do it again. Sept 11 Yorktown council #4012, bus trip to st marys and new haven museum, $30 includes leaving cars at White Plains council, back by 5:30/6pm.<br />

Good of the Order: 

Br. Robert Brombeck offered program through Bethel homes in ossining help with painting. now an annual event, courtyard plant things and spruce it up. a few hours to add to the place.  Also, having charity event on Sep 26, GK reminded that this date conflicts with planned Installation of officers.    Br.
